BARS/NIGHT-LIFE:

THINGS TO-DO & SEE:

  • Explore Old San Juan: Founded by Spanish colonists back in 1521, San Juan is the oldest city under U.S. rule and the second oldest European-established capital in the Americas. Locals and tourists alike love to explore the colorful cobblestone streets by stopping at shops and restaurants. Be sure to visit El Morro and El Castillo de San Cristobal.
  • El Yunque National Rainforest: The only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest system and one of the world's most accessible rainforests. Highly recommended to visit with a tour guide.
    • Visit the nearby beaches: If you stay at Hotel El Convento or Palacio Provincial, you have access to the facilities of their sister properties, La Concha in Condado and the Courtyard Marriot in Isla Verde, which are both located on the beach. Natalia & Caleb typically go to Ocean Park. Some other favorites are: Escambron Beach, Condado Beach, Luquillo Beach, Dorado Beach.
  • Piñones: A beautiful ocean drive from Carolina to Loiza where you can enjoy local dining experiences and practice what Puerto Ricans call Chinchorreo.
  • Rent a boat or excursion: Explore the nearby islands that make PR an archipelago or book an excursion (scuba diving, snorkeling, kite surfing, etc). Please feel free to reach out for personalized recommendations.
  • Visit Culebra and/or Vieques: Breathtaking beaches like Flamenco Beach and Sun Bay, diverse water activities including snorkeling and kayaking, and the magical experience of the bioluminescent bay in Vieques. The islands offer a chance to escape the crowds and immerse in the laid-back Caribbean island lifestyle. Additionally, these destinations provide opportunities to explore nature reserves and historical sites.
  • Toro Verde Adventure Park: Park with high-thrill attractions like a 2.5 KM zip line and ropes courses through the jungle.
  • Casa Bacardi: Distillery of the world-famous Barcardi brand. It offers tours, tastings, mixology classes, and other special events.
  • Ron Del Barrilito: The oldest Puerto Rican rum brand still in production, with its roots dating back to 1880. An amazing distillery and well-known, local rum. Offers tours, classes, events, etc. This is Natalia & Caleb's favorite!
  • Carabali: Located between the lush foothills of El Yunque National Rainforest and the crystal waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Carabali Rainforest Adventure Park is an action-packed hacienda and a favorite adventure destination in Puerto Rico with ATV and horseback riding.
  • Distrito T-Mobile: An entertainment and retail district with great restaurants, live music, and even zip lining.
